FRWL is just that odd one that I don’t really like. It’s not as primitive as Dr. No, but not as bombastic as Goldfinger. Many things about it feel more like a Hitchcock film rather than a Bond film, and it never stands out in my head. It also overuses the Bond theme a lot, and I usually love the Bond theme.

I love Bond, but the fact of the matter is Bond is more rhan a film franchise. Theres graphic novels, obviously books, etc. Its a culture. Ans for the fans theres always another wormhole, and of course the life of Fleming himself.... Who leaves one asking "James who?" Is Bond played out? Maybe for now. But like Sherlock Holmes, I think an appropriate (yet ironic quote given NTTD) is "Bond has all the time in the world." Ironically i think we live a world where Bond is more appropriate than ever, and would love to see it continue. However Id rather see, Bond dissapear for a while and become fresh again (like the hiarus from Dalton to Brosnan), than watch the series become irrelvant through reproduction. For example look at Star Wars, Indy, etc. While i dont think its the end of Bond if given a choice between "stop now", or keep going to end up like the other listed names id choose the former. Alas, i think NTTD was a majo stall move, and should never have happened, and were better at stopping with Spectre. Theyre back where they were prior to Craig, and i dont see how they can bounce back. They dropped the ball bad, made it cumbersome, and i think left many casual, and hardcore fans ambivalent about the films. Emphasis in films. Im more excited to see the novels do something new, the comic book industry, a video game or show. But ultimatley th community is what makes Bond what he is, not thr movies. Said with controversial love, a real Bond fan doesnt need, the movies. I see zero reason any Bond fan cant make a fan fiction or their own series with AI, and i bet it would be better. Bond is about evolution, and i think the film industry is played out and thats the problem. It may be better they dont make a Bon film. Conaider the delay prior to NTD release, how much joy did it bring us through the content, the rewarches and re reads. If they cant deliver new let it become fresh again.

This one after another viewing i say it is not worth hate is of the better bond films despite it being too brutal and different for the sake of it and is a good segwey to Goldeneye being the actually great segwey from view to a kill as being the best way to continue bond!

This is IMO Timothy Daltons best Bond performance IMO, NO HATE, because he is LESS KILLY than in his next film AND he is the highlight of both his films and this is more bond than License to Kill which is WAYYYY too miami vice ish and these two are too brutal for the sake of it coming off of View to a Kill where Goldeneye is the better brutal graphic segwey for the series than this and yet this is still a great yet overly brutal and over different bond film!

I've been a Bond fan since my early teens when Brosnan was the Star, loved the 007 video games, watched all the movies, was turning 18 when Craig was announced, I dreaded the idea of a blond Bond, but loved him in Casino Royale and ever since, I grew very fond of his interpretation, for me 007 is over, it's like a breakup. Maybe in 10 more years I might think a new Bond is a good idea.

License to Kill led to the reintroduction of Bond as a grittier, more realistic Bond. Really paved the way for the Daniel Craig movies. One of my favorite Bond movies (especially with the guy who played Felix Leiter in Live and Let Die returning to the role). And how can you say all the henchmen sucked when you've got a psychotic young Benicio Del Toro as one of them.

Dentist drill demonstration seemed to be channeling Pee Wee Herman. I sometimes think the "collecting gene" is not carried by everyone. if you start collecting it will continue. I remember starting with collecting toy pistols, then building airplane models, when I discovered comic books i was definitely hooked. That idea of collecting continues to this day.

I've been a Bond fan since I was a teenager. And believe me, this is not me knocking on the movies. But, I first read Ian Fleming's novels for the first time when I was in high school when Penguin was publishing them in paperback. I love the movies so much more than the movies. Fleming's novels are set in a more real world. The gadgets aren't so much a thing. He's a more human character.

This video, in particular Han Solo’s DL44 blaster, is REALLY nostalgic for me! I had the exact same one which I carried in a holster rig made by my mother who was a hell of seamstress with brown vinyl my dad bought at a local upholstery shop. She took it a step further and made me the vest from ANH! Battled stormtroopers all over the neighborhood…a 70s childhood was THE BEST! I would be as excited to see this collection (maybe even more so than your Bond one) some day. I had many of the items you have displayed and would give almost anything to have them back. Great video as usual!
